About Us
Our Beginning
At my daughter’s 2nd Birthday party in 2003, and after many repeated requests from friends who had attended or heard about other parties I had thrown for my children, I took the plunge, and started my own home-based business, where I worked with my clients as a children’s party consultant. They chose the venue (home, club, local recreation room) and I took care of the details, games, set up, favors, and decorations for their children’s parties.
At first I made my own activities, games, and crafts for the children who attended these parties, then I began to book my favorite entertainers for my clients’ parties. I was happy and content except for ONE thing: I ran around – a lot! I dreamt of my own party venue, where care and cleaning of the space was under my control, and where the decorations would transform the party room, rather than just adorn it. Also, I longed for a space that was designed to entertain both parents and children in a safe, comfortable, and spotlessly clean environment.

After 9 months of looking for that just-right spot, I signed the lease for the space that would become the home for It’s My Party. With the Mamaroneck Harbor directly out my front window, I knew this was the space where my dream of throwing perfect parties would come true.
Big Red Kitchen
It was important that I offer absolutely every theme and way to celebrate as possible, and so the idea of the Big Red Kitchen was born. Modern, huge, bright and fun, the kitchen is the heart of It’s My Party, in much the same way as a kitchen is the heart of any home. It is where parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents gather to mingle and sip coffee or tea. It is where children learn that yeast can come alive, and dough needs to rest. Where their hands can create many varied tastes: sweet cookies, warm pretzels, gooey pizza pies, and even an exotic dish of tostones! Plus a lot of messes get made in there too, and making a mess is always fun!
Our Party Room
Off at an end of the kitchen is the massive, carpeted party room. With its interchangeable canvas murals (four of them, each measuring 9’x 9’ and painted by local muralist, Jo Jayson), the room comes alive in any of 3 main themes: Planets and space; Princess; Blue Skies and Birthday Balloons.
Without the murals as decoration, the room is Tribeca-loft-like, with exposed brick on one side, and cool painted columns with tone-on-tone red swirls, symbolizing the constant motion, growth and forever spiraling of celebrations throughout life. In truth, one good party leads to another!

Our Staff
When we first opened, wonderful high school students came to me, begging to work at It’s My Party. At the start I told them that every need for every child has to be met, and that “No” is a word we won’t use at It’s My Party. Now, almost two years, and over 400 parties later, I still tell the girls (now in area colleges, studying everything from music to early childhood development) the same things. Every party can be perfect, even if it takes a little more each and every time, to make it so. I’m proud to say that at every party we do rise to the occasion together. Our clients leave happy, thrilled, and some even leave only after booking for next year! Ours is a party venue like none other in our area. Truly.
